Amy Shoko Brown (MSAT, SEP)Community Facilitator

Amy helps people who suffer from chronic stress to have the vitality, joy, and intimacy they long for. She is a training assistant for the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, QiGong and meditation teacher, and works with clients one-on-one for trauma-informed stress relief, renegotiation of chronic symptoms, and spiritual guidance. Amy is a lay ordained Zen senior in the Mountains and Rivers Order. She brings together decades of compassionate mindfulness training, creative process, and the healing modalities of Somatic Experiencing, QiGong, and Biodynamic Craniosacrel Therapy to support clients to embody their most healthy, resilient, and loving selves. She also enjoys smiling.

One of Amy’s specialties is to help heart-centered business owners who know what they could be doing in their businesses, but are stalled in moving forward by unprocessed residuals of fight, flight and freeze responses stuck in their nervous systems. This shows up when literally, people pick up the phone and freeze before being able to call an important business contact; when seemingly small irritations with work trigger feelings of rage or hopelessness; and when distressing patterns persist despite having done a lot of insight work, and even when people understanding “why” they are stuck, and also when there is no logical explanation. I help people who want to access that bound up energy and, instead of being stopped by it, be able to apply it towards contribution and growth in their heart-centered businesses.
