Unveiling Your Jewel

Welcome to Unveiling Your Jewel! Thousands of our students have taken this class since 2004. This class will help you:

  • Learn an ancient, accessible, and profound, Sufi spiritual exercise for accessing the heart, called the Remembrance.
  • Understand the Divine qualities.
  • Learn about what the Jewel is, why it’s so important for your business and your own heart.

Finally, you’ll do the exercise itself and begin the never-ending journey of knowing your own Jewel.

Getting to the Core Workbook

The full Jewel exercise is contained in our Getting to the Core PDF. The teachings videos contain more depth, and guide you experientially through the work.

Getting to the Core workbook

Intro: Unveiling Your Jewel

2. The Divine Qualities

3. The Remembrance

Four Sufi Remembrance Meditations

Once you are through the first three parts of Unveiling Your Jewel, you may want to take 15 minutes to listen to one of these Remembrances, before moving on to learning about the Jewel, and the exercise itself. Each one is 15 minutes, so don’t feel compelled to listen to all of them.

And, all of these can be found in the Remembrance Library, under the Nourish tab.

  1. General Remembrance
  2. When You Don’t Feel Remembrance
  3. A Simple Calling to the Divine
  4. Signs of Divine Caring

4. The Jewel

5. The Exercise

The 99 Names/Qualities of the Divine, according to Sufism

You will often hear Mark, or other Heart of Business team members, refer to one or more of the Divine Qualities, or as they are more formally known, the 99 Beautiful and Majestic Names of the Divine. Mark teaches what the Qualities are in the Unveiling Your Jewel audio class.

Here is a list we complied of the 99 Names, with English meanings. We even hired one of our members who is a native Arabic speaker to record pronunciations of each of the names, in case you want to learn.

99 Names of the Divine according to Sufism

This list was taken from the book Divine Names: The 99 Healing Names of the One Love (link goes to Bookshop.org, which supports local bookstores) by Dr. Rosina-Fawzia Al-Rawi, a very highly respected teacher in my lineage of Sufism. Many of Heart of Business’ students, who are drawn to work with the Divine Names, also use this book. There are others, and there are also books and lists of Divine names from other religions and traditions if you feel drawn to this kind of spiritual work.

Great! If you’ve watched/listened to what’s above, and done the exercise to whatever extent you can, the next step is completing the assignments below, and answering the questions for yourself.

Please, even if you’ve only partially completely the assignments, answer the questions! It’s an essential part of truly integrating the work.

Your Assignments

  • Read the Getting to the Core workbook.
  • Watch the videos.
  • If you like, stop after the third video and listen to one of the Remembrance recordings, to deepen your experience of the Remembrance.
  • Use videos 4 and 5 to dive into the Jewel exercise itself.
  • Be kind and gentle with this. Understand that it can take time to really get your Jewel, sometimes months, or longer, to really sink in and trust what your Jewel is.
  • There is no necessity to know your Jewel in order to develop your business. Your Jewel is rarely, if ever, used explicitly in marketing or messaging. It’s an internal, heart experience, and is affecting you whether or not your know the name.

Questions to answer

You may want to open a document, or even (gasp) get a paper notebook, to answer these questions for yourself. Actually answering the questions, writing them out, is an important part of the integration and learning process.

  1. What has been your experience with Remembrance?
  2. Please describe any places where you might be feeling stuck with Remembrance?
  3. What was your experience with the Jewel teaching?
  4. What was your experience with the Unveiling Your Jewel exercise?
  5. What issues, challenges, or questions came up for you this week?
