Healing Focus

From time to time we, as a Community take a week or so to focus on a particular topic and bring healing to it.

Here are past Healing Focuses, in case you want to take them on yourself. (If we’re currently doing a Healing Focus as a Community, you can find it on the home page.)

The Twelve Month Heart-Centered Planning process

All about the Healing Focus

Day One: Introduction and the first musings
This planning process for the next 12 months may not involve as many big sheets of paper and colored markers as you may be used to, although you’re welcome to use them!

This process is in three parts.

The first part is the first four days, where each day I will be asking questions to start a musing/inquiry process. It’s not intended that you arrive at solid answers during this inquiry process, but to start to bring up thoughts, feelings, reactions, dreams, visions, yearnings that have been or could be simmering on that topic.
The second part is the Virtual Retreat. The space of the retreat is to give you a LOT of space to do two things. One is to listen deeply to what your heart, and the heart of your business, is telling you. The second is to allow reactions to arise, feelings, beliefs, resistances, so that love can work with them in a kind way.
The third part is the integration. The two days after the Virtual Retreat things will just settle. Then, there will be the planning process that is meant to allow the integration to be put into a plan for the coming year.
Hello beloved. This first day I’m inviting you to consider your relationship with your business, and it’s development.

Questions for musing:

  1. What is your relationship to your business, how do you feel about it in it’s current state, exactly how it is now, imperfect and still developing?
  2. What do you see/sense/feel/perceive about the heart of the business, what it’s yearning for in this next year? What does it want you to know?
  3. What are your own hopes and dreams, desires and yearnings about your business over the next 12 months? There is space for both dreams and imaginings that would require miracles, as well as yearnings that feel within reach based on what you know now.

Come to the Facebook group to share your reflections, insights and questions.

Day Two: Money- Revenue and profit

Hello, beloved.

This second day, the invitation is to consider your relationship with both revenue, meaning the total amount of money your business brings in, and profit, the money that is in excess of business expenses.

Questions for musing:

  1. What is your relationship to your business’ current revenue and profit? What emotions, reactions, stories come up for you in considering the current financial state of the business?
  2. In your business’ current state, as it is now, what do you sense is its financial potential? Is it operating at its potential, considering where it’s at, or is it under or over performing?
  3. What are your hopes and dreams, desires and yearnings around revenue and profit in your business over the next 12 months? There is space for both dreams and imaginings that would require miracles, as well as yearnings that feel within reach based on what you know now.
  4. If your business gets the developmental support it needs this year, what can you see/sense/feel/perceive is possible financially, both for revenue and profit, in this coming year?

Remember that these musings are meant to get your heart and mind simmering. You might have real clarity come in, and you should write down whatever comes up for you. And there will be a lot more time to be with what you are wondering about during the Virtual Retreat.

Come to the Facebook group to share insights/reflections/questions.

Day Three: Support
Beloved! I hope you’ve found these inquiries to be nourishing.
This third day, the invitation is to consider your relationship with support, receiving help, being open to letting others see your vulnerability and give you real support of all kinds. This includes both paid help from folks you might hire, and friends and colleagues who might just want to lend a helping hand.
Because support can be a thorny topic, here are some examples of support:
  • Engaging to work with a service provider, like an accountant, bookkeeper, web designer, or other professional who can handle a particular aspect of your business for you.
  • Hiring admin support, such as a virtual assistant or other type of operational support within your business.
  • Asking clients, colleagues, and even strangers to help promote your business in various ways.
  • Asking friends, community, colleagues, to help hold space for you while you work on something.
  • Asking your family and/or friends to support you while you work on a particularly big deadline in your business, perhaps by helping with childcare, or meal prep, or even just helping you debrief.
Questions for musing:
  1. What is your relationship to asking for and receiving help? What emotions, reactions, stories come up for you when you think about asking for help? Or when you imagine someone actually helping you do something in or for your business?
  2. In your business’ current state, what do you see/sense/feel/perceive about its need for support? And similarly, what you do see/sense/feel/perceive about your own need for support in the context of the business?
  3. What are your hopes and dreams, desires and yearnings around support in your business over the next 12 months? There is space for both dreams and imaginings that would require miracles, as well as yearnings that feel within reach based on what you know now.
Remember that these musings are meant to get your heart and mind simmering. You might have real clarity come in, and you should write down whatever comes up for you. And there will be a lot more time to be with what you are wondering about during the Virtual Retreat.

Come to the Facebook group to share insights/reflections/questions.

Day Four: Schedule, Time, and Effort
Hello, beloved! This is the fourth day of planning preparation, and the focus is on schedule, time and effort. It’s no secret that all businesses require a push from time to time, where we might work longer hours or more intensely than is ordinarily sustainable. But, hopefully, that’s not our usual way of working week in and week out.
It’s also true that overall effort, when taken to an extreme, can be like a firehose. If we’re always making big efforts, where is the space for something to come back to us?
Also, when we relate to the calendar, are we in our sovereignty around when we schedule work time? Or does it tend to claim time you would prefer would be down time? Or, conversely, do requests/demands from family and community impinge on time you know in your heart you would want to dedicate to your business?
Questions for musing:
  1. What is your relationship to your schedule, your calendar and how you use your time? And similarly, what is your relationship to effort and “working hard.” What emotions, reactions and stories come up for you when you think about the effort you put into your business, and the way you relate to your schedule?
  2. In your business’ current state, what do you see/sense/feel/perceive about what the true needs are in terms of your effort and your schedule? How does that compare to how you are currently dealing with your schedule and your effort?

(Note- this post won’t be live until the day of.)

Day Five: The Virtual Retreat

This fifth day is the Virtual Retreat!

All of the musings from the previous four days, and more, you can bring into a space of deep listening during our Virtual Retreat. To find out more about Virtual Retreats, if you aren’t familiar with them, under the Nourish tab, you’ll see in the drop-down “Virtual Retreats.” That will explain the standard format, which will be slightly altered for the intention of this particular process.

The changes will be about what I introduce during the calls- the structure and schedule of the retreat will remain the same.

Healing Focus on stepping into abundance, letting go of scarcity, and getting where we want to go

All about the Healing Focus

Tuesday: We Begin! First day
As we approach this Virtual Retreat, abundance and scarcity have such loaded meanings in our language, often. I want to encourage you to let go of what you think you know about abundance, or about scarcity, and let this Healing Focus work on you.

The Healing Focus starts Tuesday and runs through Monday with the Virtual Retreat right in the middle.

The Virtual Retreat is Friday, and the Qualities and intentions of the Retreat will at least partially serve this Healing Focus.

Watch this video, as a way to frame what we’re walking into with this healing.

After you watch the video above, the first day Remembrance is about being with the fear that arises with scarcity and abundance.

Listen to this Remembrance:

When deeply affected by fear and need of money.

And then take on this invitation:

When there is space for fear and for need, what happens for your heart? What do you notice about being on a path toward abundance and deep support when there is space for the fear, even if it is, at times, overwhelming?

Come to the Facebook group to share your reflections, insights and questions.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

Wednesday

The phrase “getting to where we want to go” has implied in it that something isn’t working. The desire to quit something can be strong, and so this Remembrance can help the quitting be healthy, from a sincere, surrendered place.

The Remembrance: Quitting what no longer serves

The Invitation:

What does “letting go of scarcity” really mean to you? Without worrying about the word “scarcity” what does your heart show you needs to be let go of in order to have space to move forward?

We can discuss it here, in our Facebook group.

Thursday

When we’re feeling stuck, a stuckness that may have lasted for sometime, we can believe that healing or change only happens very slowly, in tiny, incremental steps.

The Divine is the Swift, and so I invite you into opening to change happening more quickly, without having to push it.

The Remembrance: Moving rapidly, at the pace of the Divine:

The Invitation:

Often change feels slow, so slow that you wonder if it’s even happening. What happens when you invite things to move as rapidly as the Divine can move and change reality? What happens for your heart?

What do you notice?

Click: Here’s the Facebook thread to discuss this Remembrance and Challenge.

Friday

The Virtual Retreat!

The first call, which includes the orientation and the two Divine qualities we’ll be working with, is recorded and will be sent out to everyone.

The other calls are not recorded or shared. Access links are on this page, below.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday

Yearning is a big part of what draws us forward. But so, also, is choosing. Do you feel like you can choose what you most yearn for?

Listen to this Remembrance:

Desiring something and feeling like you just can’t choose it

And take on this invitation:

When being aware of what you’re yearning for, in business, in life, what does it feel like to let yourself fully choose what you desire, to not hold back your choosing?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing of your experience with the retreat and this Remembrance.

Sunday

My Sufi Sheikh called hope a “medicine.” That hope is necessary for the human spirit. While it’s true that hope can bypass, or contribute to denial, don’t deny yourself the medicine of hope.

Listen to this Remembrance:

Finding hope and optimism in the face of everything.

And take on this invitation:

Despite everything in the world, despite everything in your personal history, what happens for you when you find hope and optimism? What does the path forward look like?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing about this Remembrance and invitation.

Monday

Monday

Welcome to the integration of the Healing Focus. Abundance, scarcity and the path can be profound journeys, if we let the heart guide us. It’s never about grasping for more stuff, and more about the depths of surrender and where guidance can lead us.

May the abundance granted to you always be easily found!

The Integration Remembrance:

Listen to the Integration of the Healing Focus on Stepping into Abundance and letting go of scarcity.

The Invitation:
What is now different about your relationship to abundance, scarcity and the path forward, as compared to when you started this Healing Focus? What do you notice in your heart? What do you notice in your relationship to your business and to the coming year?

Please come share your experiences with this integration, and with your entire journey of the Healing Focus. Here is where you can come share and discuss in our group.

Healing Focus on Courage in Business

All about the Healing Focus

We Begin! First day
Courage is a quality that is incredibly helpful, because there is so much uncertainty that we face in business. That uncertainty triggers fear, and so courage in facing that uncertainty means you can move your business forward.
We’ll start this Healing Journey by being with the fear in the first place.

The Healing Focus starts Tuesday, and runs through Monday with the Virtual Retreat right in the middle.

The Virtual Retreat is on Friday, and the Qualities and intentions of the Retreat will at least partially serve this Healing Focus.

Watch this video. It’s the video created for the Community but also serves as a great introduction to this topic.

After you watch the video above, the first day Remembrance is about noticing your relationship to your businesses own successes and challenges.

Listen to this Remembrance:

When fear is consuming you.

And then take on this invitation:

In those situations where you most want courage in your business, notice your relationship to fear. What stories or meanings come up for you when you feel fear when you’re wanting courage? What do you notice in your heart? What did you experience in the Remembrance?

Come to the Facebook group to share your reflections, insights and questions.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Wednesday

The second day of the Healing Focus on Courage, and I want to introduce a close cousin to Fear, which is Awe. From a Sufi point of view, Fear lives in the personality, in the ego, whereas Awe comes from a deeper place in the heart.

I want to invite you to listen to this Remembrance, helping you connect with the Majesty of the Divine.

The Remembrance: The Majesty of the Divine

The Invitation:

Can you take one instance where you are wanting courage and feeling fear in the context of your business, and find what you are in awe of, what kind of majesty can your heart become aware of that overshadows the fear? What happens? What’s your experience?

We can discuss it here, in our Facebook group.

Thursday

We’re touched on fear, on awe and majesty, and now we’re turning our attention to faith, the third leg in accessing courage.

The Remembrance: Replacing the ego’s idea of trust, with the heart’s sense of true trust.

The Invitation:

In a situation where you are wanting courage in business, what do you have faith in? And how much faith do you have? What is your experience of faith in that situation?

What do you notice?

Click: Here’s the Facebook thread to discuss this Remembrance and Challenge.

Friday

The Virtual Retreat!

The first call, which includes the orientation and the two Divine qualities we’ll be working with, is recorded and will be sent out to everyone.

The other calls are not recorded or shared. Access links are on this page, below.

If you’re new, check out: What is a Virtual Retreat?

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday

Although sometimes we do have to face challenges alone, most often courage is bolstered when we feel supported, accompanied.

Listen to this Remembrance:

Asking for help from ancestors, guides, prophets, saints and other beings in your lineages.

And take on this invitation:

When facing a situation in your business that is calling for courage, are you telling yourself a story that you have to face it alone? What did you experience or receive from the Remembrance? And who is there among your friends, colleagues, family or community that could stand by you and support you in whatever context you’re needing courage?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing of your experience with the retreat and this Remembrance.

Sunday

Sometimes courage doesn’t even feel like courage. Others call it courage, but to the person, they just felt pulled toward what the did.

Listen to this Remembrance:

The Heart’s pull towards what is true.

And take on this invitation:

Where in your business do you notice yourself pulled toward what is true, what is right to do, what feels normal, that others might call, or are calling courageous? Where are you already carrying courage, and what does it really feel like? Does it feel different than you expect? What was your experience with the Remembrance?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing about this Remembrance and invitation.

Monday

Monday

Welcome to the integration of the Healing Focus on Courage. Necessarily, courage is much more than what we’ve journeyed with, and yet healing can carry us further than we think.

May courage continue to blossom with in you.

The Integration Remembrance:

Listen to the Integration of the Healing Focus on courage Remembrance.

The Invitation:
What is different about your relationship to courage now, as compared to when you started this Healing Focus? What do you notice in your heart? What do you notice in relationship to tasks, events, relationships that ask for courage? What do you notice in your ability to access courage when needed?

Please come share your experiences with this integration, and with your entire journey of the Healing Focus on Courage. Here is where you can come share and discuss in our group.

Healing Focus on Justice and Equity in the Marketplace

All about the Healing Focus

We Begin! Video and first day

The issue of Justice within our marketplace is a big one. The marketplace, the economy is *designed* to be unequal, where a few get a lot of the wealth, and many get little, and many get none at all.

We are taught to personalize our failings, that it must be our fault. We’re also taught to personalize our successes, that our hard work paid off. In both cases we often don’t see how we’re being affected by the larger culture, by unjust systems, by unequal tides, to use a metaphor.

Let’s start this Healing Focus by attempting to both appreciate our personal efforts, and the places we need to learn, while also seeing that we exist in a larger context. We may not be able to always accurately measure exactly what is due to our personal effort and what is affecting us from the larger culture and systems, but just knowing that it’s a nuanced, complex soup, can help open our hearts.

The Healing Focus starts Tuesday, and runs through Monday, with the Virtual Retreat right in the middle.

The Virtual Retreat is on Friday, and the Qualities and intentions of the Retreat will at least partially serve this Healing Focus.

Watch this video:

After you watch the video above, the first day Remembrance is about noticing your relationship to your businesses own successes and challenges.

Listen to this Remembrance:

Noticing your own relationships to your business’ successes and challenges.

And then take on this invitation:

Notice all the ways that you ascribe your business successes or failures to yourself alone. Today, let this awareness be in your heart. What do you notice in your heart? Was there anything shown to you that you found surprising? What is it like to just be aware of it, rather than having it be perhaps somewhat unconscious, or just out of sight? What do you notice in your heart? Was there anything shown to you that you found surprising?

Come to the Facebook group to share your reflections, insights and questions.
This thread here in the Facebook group.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Wednesday

You have, no doubt, seen others succeed in business, and you’ve seen others fail in business. It’s easy to fall into the unconscious framing that personalizes those successes and failures, the same way you do with your own successes and failures.

Take time with this Remembrance.

The Remembrance: Finding the truth in questions about worthiness

And take on this invitation: Who do you look up to in business, who do you compare yourself to? Do you see the ways they’ve gotten help from outside their business? The ways they’ve been supported directly and indirectly? Are they free of burdens that others are affected by?

Who you do see that has failed in business? Do you see how they might have been affected by systems? Are there burdens they carry that may have affected their ability to be fully present or effective in their business?

We can discuss it here, in our Facebook group, in this thread.

Thursday

Today we dive into the Divine quality of Justice, and yes, Justice is a Divine quality. We thirst for it, we yearn for it, we can drink it in, we can express it, but we can’t manufacture it.

We use the word often without really knowing what we mean by it. Let’s embrace getting to know the Divine quality of Justice as if it were a stranger we were just meeting, open to learning what it is, what it could be in our lives.

The Remembrance: The Divine Quality of Justice, Al ‘Adl.

The Invitation:

Ask to be shown where al ‘Adl is showing up in your life and business. And also ask to be shown where it is hard to witness, where from your heart’s point of view it is absent. Where do you thirst for it?

And what does the heart of your business say to you when Justice is present? What does it say to you when it is absent?

What do you notice?

Click: Here’s the Facebook thread to discuss this Remembrance and Challenge.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday

Facing the reality of injustice, whether it’s a long-term struggle for you, or a new realization, can be hard on the heart. Especially after the openness of a Virtual Retreat, it can be healing to invite in Gentleness.

Listen to this Remembrance:

The Divine Quality of Gentleness, Ar Ra’uf

And take on this invitation:

As you allow the Gentleness of the Divine to settle into and fill your heart, what do you notice about your capacity to face injustice? What do you notice about your ability to potentially play a part in helping manifest/embody justice? How do you find yourself feeling about injustice?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing of your experience with the retreat and this Remembrance.

Sunday

After the Virtual Retreat, I’m hoping that insights and nourishment have sifted deeply into your heart and being.

During the Retreat, there was a discussion of how the Divine enacts Justice through different people playing different roles in different moments, rather than any particular individual taking on all roles required to manifest the embodiment of Justice.

Listen to this Remembrance:

Finding your role in facing an injustice.

And take on this invitation:

What did you discover with this Remembrance? How does it feel to accept that you do have role? Was what you saw about your role surprising? Was it hard to embrace?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing about this Remembrance and invitation.

Monday

Monday

Welcome to the integration of the Healing Focus on Justice and Equity. It has necessarily only touched on a small part of what it means to be engaged with the Divine quality of Justice, and to play a role in helping to manifest justice on earth.

Hopefully this journey has helped to fan the flames of desire to play a part in making Justice real, and has deepened your thirst for knowledge of the tyranny and injustice present in our economies and marketplaces. We all have a role to play, often many roles, each in their own time.

The Integration Remembrance:

Listen to the Remembrance to Integrate the Healing Focus

The Invitation:

What further education is calling you so you can continue to deepen your understanding of injustice, both in the world, and how it lives inside your own being?

What role(s) are you being called to play now, in the work toward justice? What role(s) do you see perhaps on your horizon that you maybe you are being prepared for?

How can you allow yourself to be nourished and cared-for during the journey toward Justice?

Here’s a Facebook thread to discuss this healing focus.

Healing Focus on Worthiness

All about the Healing Focus

We Begin! Video and first day

The issue of worthiness stops many heart-centered business owners in their tracks. Some because of conscious questioning of themselves, “Who am I to take up space/do this work/etc?” Others because of pre-conscious impulses to cede space and power to others, to not show up for reasons that are hard to articulate.

There are good and healthy reasons to inquire within about the work you’re doing, but don’t let “worthiness” be one of them. You are clearly worthy, because you’re here on earth doing the work.

Let’s bring the healing!

The Healing Focus starts Tuesday, and runs through Monday with the Virtual Retreat right in the middle.

Also, the Virtual Retreat is on Friday, and the Qualities and intentions of the Retreat will at least partially serve this Healing Focus.

After you watch the video above, the first day Remembrance is about acknowledging all the ways you are needing trust and not accessing it.

Listen to this Remembrance:

Noticing the presence and impact of the issue of worthiness.

And then take on this invitation:

Write down all the ways that issues around worthiness are showing up in your business, and also write down all the ways you were shown it’s impacting your business. Today, let this awareness be in your heart. Ask, “Is love available even here?” What is it like to just be aware of it, rather than having it be perhaps somewhat unconscious, or just out of sight? What do you notice in your heart? Was there anything shown to you that you found surprising?

Come to the Facebook group to share your reflections, insights and questions.

To view past comments/discussion regarding this topic, please go to this Facebook thread.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Wednesday

Today let’s take a deeper dive into one aspect of worthiness, and that’s the conscious thoughts that show up the undermine us. The ways we consciously question, “Do I have enough training?” “Am I good enough?” “Aren’t other people already doing this better than I can?” and other similar statements/questions.

Take time with this Remembrance.

The Remembrance: Finding the truth in questions about worthiness

And take on this invitation: How can you integrate what you learned in the Remembrance? What was the message you heard? What is one element or place in your business that is impacted by a misunderstanding of the conscious thought about worthiness, and can you replace it with an action or element that reflects the truth that your heart saw?

We can discuss it here, in our Facebook group.

To view past comments/discussion regarding this topic, you can go to this Facebook thread.

Thursday

Today is a deeper healing dive into the unconscious aspect of worthiness. Those moments you might stop yourself without any conscious thought involved, just because that’s the way things “should” be, or “are.” We can bring healing, and change unconscious reactions.

The Remembrance: Noticing and replacing unconscious moments of reactions to worthiness/a>strong>

The Invitation:

Are there any moments you can anticipate coming up in the next day or week that might have normally triggered the unconscious unworthy reaction? Can you expect that moment to arise, and prepare for it in your heart, allowing yourself to slow down enough to be moved by the Divine instead of your normal reaction. What happens instead?

What do you notice?

Share your insights here on our Facebook group.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday

Integrating the Virtual Retreat, being gentle with yourself. Noticing the insights and letting them filter in. What does the world look like today?

Listen to this Remembrance:

How does the Divine see you?

And take on this invitation:

Just noticing the world around you and how it looks through your eyes. What is it like to move in the world if the Divine has profound appreciation of you and sees you as deeply worthy, that you exist because you are of Source?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing of your experience with the retreat and this Remembrance.

Sunday

A simple question: Who are you to do the work you do, really? Who are you? It’s rare that this question gets asked with sincerity, with depth, with love, with curiosity.

Listen to this Remembrance:

Who are you to do this work?

And take on this invitation:

Allowing who you are to do this work to sink in, and to embrace it, what does this week look like since you are exactly the right person to be holding your business and doing this work?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing about this Remembrance and invitation.

Healing Focus on Capacity

All about the Healing Focus

We Begin! Video and first day

The healing focus is on capacity. When I first started in this work about 20 years ago, I ran groups and had folks write down what they were going to do in the next week on their businesses. Every week, without fail, when we went over what had actually gotten done, they had listed about twice as many tasks as they had checked off.

While folks called themselves “lazy,” I saw something else. Because it happened so universally, so consistently, I began to understand that it was a deep miscalculation of capacity, not laziness, that was going on. In general, we believed that we could do twice as much, or more, than we actually can.

Why? I don’t believe it comes from an innate inability in human beings, but rather it arises out of the traumatic nature of our culture, the unrelenting pressure to do more and more. This comes both from external messages of the airbrushed life and how much better everyone else is doing, as well as financial insecurity in industrialized nations that don’t have an adequate safety net for individuals.

To step out, to have a realistic, grounded, healthy sense of our capacity requires healing. And that’s what this week is about.

The Healing Focus starts Tuesday, and runs through Monday with the Virtual Retreat right in the middle.

Also, the Virtual Retreat is on Friday and the Qualities and intentions of the Retreat will at least partially serve this Healing Focus.

After you watch the video above, the first day Remembrance is about acknowledging all the ways you are needing trust and not accessing it.

Listen to this Remembrance:

Noticing the messages of overwork externally and inside ourself.

And then take on this invitation:

After the Remembrance, look out at your day, the tasks ahead of you, your to-do list. Go through your agenda, one thing at a time, and notice whether any external messages of “more” are woven into your agenda. If you can, look at each task from your heart, from your essence, without the message of “more.” What happens to that task? How does your to-do list transform?

You can discuss your experience and ask questions here:

Come to the Facebook group to share your reflections, insights and questions.
This thread here in the Facebook group.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Wednesday

Today we’re taking on a Remembrance, and an Invitation. Sometimes just seeing the dysfunctional messages as separate from our essence is enough. But let us not stop there. Sometimes we care so much, and other people are asking things of us. Sometimes they are completely legitimate requests. And yet we still need to make our own choices.

Take time with this Remembrance.

The Remembrance: When feeling overwhelmed, swayed by the needs and requests of others

And take on this invitation: Who is making requests of you? Are there are any active requests in front of you, from the last day or week? Can you make receiving the request, responding to the request, and fulfilling (or not) the request, three separate actions, to be done separately?

What do you notice when you can receive a request without having the need to respond to it? And then responding to a request, without the need to immediately fulfill it? And then to fulfill a request (or not) from your heart, without obligation or pressure?

We can discuss it here, in our Facebook group, in this thread.

Thursday

Similar to having others make requests of you, often we just have so many things we care about, and we can’t get to all of them. What is it like to face the reality that we care about so many things, and yet we can’t really meet each one the way we would like to?

The Remembrance: When you feel pulled in many directions by many things you care about and can’t get to all of them.

The Invitation:

List the various things and causes and organizations and people you care about. Consider each one, and allow the deep caring in your heart for each one to well up, and just hold that caring, letting the love pour out. And ask to notice if and how the Divine might be caring for each thing, allowing yourself to notice whether or not you are required to actively be engaged with each thing, or if it’s okay that you let some things just rest into the hands of the Divine.

What do you notice?

Click: Here’s the Facebook thread to discuss this Remembrance and Challenge.

Friday

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday

As the retreat integrates, you can also let go of even more.

One painful way that we feel overwhelmed is when we do drop the ball, we do miss our commitments. Then, not only do we have too much to do, but we also have the weight of debt, feeling we owe those missed commitments, that we somehow have to make up for them. Can you let them go?

Listen to this Remembrance:

Leaving the weight of missed commitments

And take on this invitation:

List any commitments that you were not able to follow through on. Face each one, and any remorse, or grief, or other pain you have from those missed commitments. Acknowledge that you couldn’t do them then. What needs to be done to close the loop? Admit and apologize to yourself? Admit and apologize to anyone else, without making the commitment to make it up? Release yourself from any commitments you made that you can’t keep?

Can you clear all of your missed commitments from your heart? What do you notice from the ones you can clear?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing of your experience with the retreat and this Remembrance.

Sunday

Today, I encourage you go back through the days of the Healing Focus, in order. If you don’t have the time, no need to do each Remembrance. But, see what feels relevant, what calls to you, to be further integrated or deepened.

Plus, there’s this Remembrance, on being carried by the Divine.

Click: Feeling carried by the Divine even in the hustle

Look at your to do list, at all you have in front of you, and stop long enough to perceive how you might be carried through these tasks, instead of pushing… What do you notice? What has changed since Tuesday?

There’s a Facebook thread for discussion here.

Monday

Monday

The last day of the Healing Focus on Capacity. I know it’s been a journey, and I hope you’ve experienced healing, and insights and nourishment.

Now, let’s make sure that whatever came through for you really sticks!

The Integration Remembrance:

Integrating the Healing Focus on Capacity

Another Remembrance: Feeling Joy!

Feeling unbridled joy, unsquelched by anyone else

Action/Challenge:
And notice how you are after this week. What’s your relationship to capacity now? What does your week, or your month, look like now?

Here’s a Facebook thread to discuss this.

Healing Focus on Trust

All about the Healing Focus

We Begin! Video and first day
The Healing Focus for April is TRUST! Come, move through issues around trust, and feel the support of the firmament beneath you, holding you up, and cradling your heart as you move boldly into your future!
Because uncertainty is the air we breathe as business owners, Trust is essential in stepping forward. Your clients want to trust in you, and so you have to carry and transmit trust. You are also experimenting, trying new things, and it’s hard to move forward without an essential trust in your heart.

Acknowledging all the ways trust is both necessary and missing.

And then take on this opening:

What situations in your business, or life, are most lacking trust, where you feel most in need of Trust, yet can’t access it? Are there particular times where this need is highlighted?
From the Remembrance, do you have a sense of where the Trust is lacking- in yourself? Your business? The Divine? Elsewhere?
Lean into that feeling, and as you sit with what it feels like to be lacking Trust, what do you notice? What happens in your heart?
Come to the Facebook group to share your reflections, insights and questions.

This thread here in the Facebook group.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Wednesday

Today we’re taking on a Remembrance, and a Challenge. The Remembrance is about gaining trust in your self. It’s all too common to have taken in messages from other people that mean you interpret mistakes, missteps, and moments of learning as reasons not to trust yourself. This also means you underappreciate the gifts and experiences you do have.

Take time with this Remembrance.

The Remembrance: Gaining Trust in Yourself.

The Challenge: After the Remembrance, take time to write down things that you haven’t liked about yourself, and instead see them through the lens of appreciation. Why are those actually strengths, or valuable parts of yourself?

Plus, from the Remembrance, list:

  • The gifts you see in yourself.
  • The experiences and learnings that you carry.
  • Everything about yourself that you can appreciate.

How does it feel, noticing all of this about yourself? How is it to begin to trust that you can face the unknown and move through it?

We can discuss it here, in our Facebook group, in this thread.

Thursday

Do you trust your business? It’s really easy to not develop a trust in your business, because of unconscious and unfair expectations on it.

The Remembrance today has you seeing your business more clearly, and leaning in, learning to trust your business’ ability to develop and grow, even if it can’t in this moment produce all the results that you want from it.

The Remembrance: Gaining trust in your business.

The Challenge: Appreciating and leaning into your business.

Similar to yesterday’s Remembrance, I invite you to spend time with your business, noticing where it is now, the gifts and competencies it has, as well as it’s ability to develop through challenges into a very capable, profitable business.

Notice others who have similar businesses. You may want to write it all down:

  • Gifts and abilities your business currently carries.
  • Other, similar businesses that are more successful than you, proving that you can do it, too.
  • Where your business is now, developmentally, and noticing it’s ability to develop into a more capable, profitable business.
  • Any other insights that came in from the Remembrance.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday

Today is the day after the retreat, and so my recommendation is to let the work of the retreat integrate. Allow yourself to drink in both qualities. Ask to see those qualities in yourself, and in your heart, and in the world around you.

What is possible if you carry those qualities in your heart? How do those qualities move you differently than you might normally?

Here’s a place in our Facebook group for sharing of your experience with the retreat.

Sunday

Today, I encourage you go back through the days of the Healing Focus, in order. If you don’t have the time, no need to do each Remembrance. But, in your own heart:

  • See your gifts, experience, resilience, and ability to face the unknown.
  • See your business’ competencies, and ability to develop through the stages of development.

Plus, there’s this Remembrance, on letting go of the ego’s definition of trust.

Click: Letting go of the ego’s definition of trust.

What are you noticing in your relationship with Trust at different levels? Yourself, your business, and the Divine? What has changed since Tuesday?

There’s a Facebook thread for discussion here.

Monday

Monday

The last day of the Healing Focus on Trust. I know it’s been a journey, and I hope you’ve experienced healing, and insights and nourishment.

Now, let’s make sure that whatever came through for you really sticks!

The Remembrance: Gratitude & Celebration
In the Library under Your Heart and Emotions, the Celebration section, #1 (or #3 if you prefer).

Also, today’s Remembrance is the integration of this healing focus.

Action/Challenge:
What is one weekly (or otherwise consistent and regular) habit, arising directly out of the insights you’ve received during this Healing Focus, that you can take on to embody and express Trust in yourself, your business, and the Divine? It can’t be too heavy a burden, something you can do consistently.

And it should match the stage your business is in, and not be too ambitious, overwhelming, or require your business to be more advanced than it is.

Here’s a Facebook thread to discuss this.

Healing Focus on Power

All about the Healing Focus

We Begin! Video and first day

The Healing Focus for February is POWER! Come, heal your heart from any reactions/resistance to claiming and filling up with Divine Power.

Power is essential for success, and at a basic level is simply having the ability to engage with and affect your environment. I want you to embody power in service to love, allowing your business to flourish.

The Healing Focus will start on Tuesday, and run through Monday with the Virtual Retreat right in the middle of it.

Also, the Virtual Retreat is on Friday and the Qualities and intentions of the Retreat will at least partially serve this intention.

The first day! We begin with a perhaps counter-intuitive Remembrance and challenge.

After you watch the video above, the first day Remembrance is about preparing your container to receive Power, to know that your heart can handle Power with inherent goodness and beauty.

Listen to this Remembrance:

How the Divine Sees you and your business, and receiving Divine appreciation.

And then take on this opening:

Think about times you’ve had power in a situation, even small situations. How did you handle it? Can you find appreciation for how you were with power? What did you like about how you were with power? What could be improved?

Ask these questions in your heart, with an openness, with a willingness to be surprised.

Ask in your heart: is there trust in you around receiving and expressing Divine Power? What does your heart need to be open to receiving more Divine Power?

Come to the Facebook group to share your reflections, insights and questions.
This thread here in the Facebook group.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Wednesday

Today we’re taking on a Remembrance, and a Challenge. The Remembrance is about connecting to your lineage. Many of us have a very painful relationship to our most immediate ancestors.

Yet, at the same time, Divine love has flowed down through the ages, from the moment of creation, through generation after generation, until it reached your body. Your ancestors, your lineage, is an important feeling of home, of stability, of strength, and having a healthier relationship and connection to that flow is a wonderful way to access power.

The Remembrance: Connecting to the Ancestors, strength love and life of lineage

There’s also this article, which speaks to other lineages you may have access to. Cookie Grandma’s secrets to a unique and powerful business.

The Challenge: After doing the Remembrance, and reading the article, see if you can notice how your blood lineage is supporting you. Despite imperfections, perhaps grave imperfections, in your more immediate ancestors, can you lean into your blood line? Can you feel it at your back, and face into the future with more stability?

And, after the reading the article, what other lineages do you lean into? Can you feel the love, support, strength, and stability from them as well?

How does it feel, what do you notice, in having all of these ancestors behind you, under you, holding you up?

We can discuss it here, in our Facebook group, in this thread.

Thursday

One of the ways that we learn about something is through feeling the lack of it, feeling our desire and yearning for it. I want to create space today to let you explore, without guilt, without stopping yourself, without hemming and hawing, without holding yourself back… your desire for power.

The Remembrance: A healthy desire and thirst for power.

The Challenge: Notice the places, situations, moments where you wish you had more power. Indulge yourself in feeling that, what would you do with the power? What would you want to see happen? How would you act if you had power?

Click:
Here’s the Facebook thread to discuss this Remembrance and Challenge.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday

Today is the day after the retreat, and so my recommendation is to let the work of the retreat integrate. Allow yourself to drink in both Al Quddus, the Holy, and Al Qawiy, the Mighty. Ask to see those qualities in yourself, and in your heart, and in the world around you.

What is possible if you carry those qualities in your heart? How do those qualities move you differently than you might normally?

Sunday

Today, I encourage you go back through the days of the Healing Focus, in order. If you don’t have the time, no need to do each Remembrance. But, in your own heart:

  • See yourself as the Divine sees you, receiving appreciation and trust for who you are. There’s also the quality of Quddus, holiness, from the retreat.
  • Lean into the love and support coming to you from the Divine through the many generations of your lineages, turning to face the future.
  • Being with the thirst of your heart for power, the ability to affect the world around you.

With those steps complete, try chanting or otherwise being in Remembrance with the many qualities of power:

The page numbers refer to the Divine Names book. If you don’t have the book, don’t worry, just be with the qualities and see how your heart feels. Do any of them light up for you particularly?

Al Malik – the Sovereign, p 35
Al Muhaymin- the Protector p. 49
Al Aziz- the Powerful, the Friendly, p 53
Al Jabbar- the Healer who realigns, the One who has power, p.57
Al Qahhar- The Invincible, p79
Al Azim- the Magnificent, p133
Al Qawiy – the Mighty, the Strong p 205
Al Matin- The Unshakeable p207
Al Qadir- The Powerful p255
Al Muqtadir- The One who has power p259
Al Wali- the Ruler p279
Maliku-l-Mulk- The ultimate Owner, Ruler of power, p 303

What do you notice with any of these qualities in your heart?

There’s a Facebook thread for discussion here.

Healing Focus on Visibility and Outreach

All about the Healing Focus

Tuesday we begin: Call Recording

The Healing Focus is on Visibility and Outreach! Come, heal your heart and your business of any funny energy, blocks or emotional issues to do with helping your business be visible.

The Healing Focus will start on Tuesday, and run through Monday, with the Virtual Retreat right in the middle of it.

Kick-off Call Recording

Also, the Virtual Retreat is on Friday and the Qualities and intentions of the Retreat will at least partially serve this intention.

The Remembrance: When you’re afraid of stepping into being really visible.
In the Remembrance Library: In Challenges, scroll down, #2 in the Visibility section.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday

Stepping out and being visible can feel really vulnerable if we’re doing it alone. But we’re never alone. The connection to the Divine can be very powerful, and yet for some of us it can feel impersonal. By connecting to your ancestors and/or lineage, you can feel supported in a very palpable way.

The Remembrance: Connecting to your ancestors
In the Remembrance Library: In Relationships, #10.

The Challenge: When you can feel the presence/support of ancestors and/or lineage, check in with the heart of your business, and see what you would want to do to make it more visible today. Whether it’s more visible to a person, to a group, or in a way that it hasn’t been seen before.

Sunday

When you see the truth of who you really are, it can help you find a strength that is based in humility, not in being pumped up. And that humility can carry you forward in surprising ways.

The Remembrance: Seeing the truth of who you are and bringing that into the world.
In the Remembrance Library: In When you’re facing a challenge, scroll down to the section on Visibility. #3 in that section.

The Challenge: Share with someone a strength or gift of yours, and how you appreciate it for helping you be of service in the world.
Advanced Challenge: Write or video about that strength or gift, in the same way, and share it with a larger audience. Your email list, your Facebook audience, in a talk, somewhere.
